Job Description

Responsible for timely and accurate processing, management, and delivery of payroll and related client services, including recordkeeping and reporting, and administration of employee benefits. Manages the activities of payroll. Assist with the administration of contracts, onboarding, leave, benefits and other financial matters as needed for the Association. This position is responsible for providing transactional support for the human resources department including, but not limited to, collecting, organizing, reviewing, data entry, reporting, HRIS system management while enforcing company policies and practices.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Associate’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Human Resources Certification preferred; SHRM-CP or PHR.
  • 2 years of experience processing payroll for 1000+ employees preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Microsoft Office suite and Payroll and/or Accounting systems experience.
  • Expert knowledge of DOL state, local, and government payroll regulations to include those associated with garnishments, deductions, and taxes.
Essential Functions
  • Manage all payroll and benefits tasks, including working with vendors, processing payroll and billing, and handling employee benefits.
  • Make sure payroll and benefits are accurate and processed on time.
  • Collect and enter payroll data, process employee changes and benefits elections, and check for accuracy.
  • Handle payroll and benefits issues, including pay adjustments, garnishments, special wage calculations, and corrections.
  • Complete bi-weekly, quarterly and year-end payroll tasks and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Update employee information in the HR system, such as pay increases, job changes, FMLA/Leave and employment status.
  • Track eligibility dates for healthcare under ACA and notify employees of available benefits. Perform ACA year-end processes.
  • Help process employee forms, including new hire and rehire paperwork and background clearances.
  • Solve problems and work with service providers to ensure smooth HR and payroll operations.
  • Create and maintain reports to support audits and decision-making, ensuring information is accurate.
  • Lead the open enrollment process, including sharing benefit options, helping employees with changes, and submitting information on time.
  • Keep the HR system up to date with accurate and timely information.
  • Stay informed about HR and payroll trends, employment laws, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with changing payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Run HR and payroll reports for compliance, audits, and planning, including headcount, turnover, and benefits data.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
