The Director of Development is a vital member of the Development team, responsible for leading fundraising efforts and cultivating relationships with donors, members, and supporters of the Metropolitan YMCA. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role involves managing a donor portfolio, meeting annual fundraising goals, and collaborating with leadership and staff at various YMCA branches.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in nonprofit administration, business administration, communications or a similar field or equivalent experience.

· Minimum of five (5) years experience in fundraising with proven success in the areas of major gifts, annual campaigns, and/or special events.

· Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate relationships with internal and external constituency groups, including donors, volunteers, staff, members, and community leaders.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality, build trust, and influence others.

· Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers, community partners, YMCA members and donor prospects.

· Demonstrated commitment to the mission and purpose of the YMCA.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite

· At least five (5) years of experience with donor databases.

· Experience with Donor research tools such as databases, and project management software, and CRM systems.

· Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

· Attention to detail and ability to work independently, under deadlines and multi-task.

· Weekend and evening work required, along with travel within the Metropolitan YMCA service area.

Essential Functions

· Will serve in central capacity as a leader of the Stewardship Committee, in charge of formulating association-wide strategy and executable efforts

· As per role on Stewardship committee, will be directly responsible in crafting and implementing tailored donor stewardship plans across the entire association, with a goal to bolster fundraising efforts and cultivate lasting relationships with donors.

· Execute fundraising campaign strategy and overall responsibility for the discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors in assigned areas.

· Accountable for achieving fundraising goals, including meeting attendance, solicitations and dollars raised.

· Manage a portfolio of prospects.

· Solicit gifts in support of campaign priorities for association priorities and branch programs.

· Assist in the creation and staffing of volunteer committees.

· Manage volunteer leaders for assigned YMCA branches.

· Serve as collaborative leader for both staff and volunteer committees in leadership development, fundraising, annual campaign activities and other programs as assigned.

· Collaborate with internal constituencies on strategy and the implementation of campaign efforts.

· Work closely to support the functions of annual giving, development operations, event planning and research with a focus on transparency across the association and collaborative fundraising to maximize giving potential across branches.

· Performs other job-related duties as may be periodically assigned
