Job Description

The Community Navigator Manager plays a key role in connecting individuals and families with essential services and supports while advancing the YMCA’s mission. Working closely with the Department Director, this position leads staff and volunteers in delivering high-quality community programs and outreach initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with the Department Director to promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. Serves as a role model for other staff and participants.

· Collaborates with the Department Director to create and lead staff and volunteers in executing campaigns, programs, and/or curriculum for the advancement of the YMCA while ensuring safety, licensing standards, and the YMCAs reputation and providing the highest level of customer service.

· Partners with the Department Director to lead staff and/or volunteers in providing quality programming while adhering to all standards. 

· Manages client intake and conducts comprehensive information-gathering interviews to assess client needs.

· Researches local, state, and federal services and assistance programs to determine the programs that are best suited to address individual client needs.

· Oversees community navigation help line.

· Assists with maintaining a database of community resources and navigation services.

· Serves as the YMCA liaison on collaborative community outreach initiatives; Assists with outreach initiatives, marketing, and graphic design projects that promote the YMCA's services on social media and at local community boards.

· Builds effective, authentic relationships with staff, participants, local legislative offices, and community partners and connects them to the YMCA.

· Supports Department Director in administrative activities, including tracking clients, referrals, data reports, and conversations, and developing reports for Town and County Administrators. 

· As a Mandated Reporter, recognizes signs of abuse or neglect and reports to supervisor and the appropriate authorities.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Performs other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential Experience and Skill Requirements:

· 5-7 years of experience in a related field.

· CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire. 

· Team player, with superb interpersonal skills. An ability to work with co-workers and the public in a positive and friendly manner and resolve conflicts as needed.  

· Self-starter with the ability to multitask, lead others, work independently, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment. 

· General computer skills with the ability to effectively learn and use new software. 

· Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record with access to personal vehicle preferred. 

· Ability to process through both client and staff needs with empathy and compassion in order to provide appropriate resource provisions. 

Essential Education Requirements: 

· High School degree or GED, or equivalent experience.

· Work is performed at a community campus that serves all people. 

· Work is occasionally stressful and requires ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and successfully cope with the pressures which are related to the position.

· The campus facility is open early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and the job may require attendance outside of regular business hours (9am – 5pm).

· The noise level is generally low.

Required Certifications

CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
