The Saratoga Regional YMCA is hiring for a Saratoga Springs Executive Director and we are excited to have you join our team! 
Job Description

This position supports the work of the SRYMCA, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This role oversees the total operation of a YMCA branch, including Living our Cause, program & membership growth, property management, staff and volunteer development, fundraising, community relations, and collaborations/partnerships.

Saratoga Regional YMCA is a mid-major YMCA, six branches and over a total of 40,000 memberships. The Saratoga Springs branch is the largest branch of the 6, with over 20,000 members and an operating budget over $7 million. Growth and expansion of the major revenue drivers which include membership and programs are key. The Executive Director will invest significant time in building and strengthening relationships in the community resulting in collaborations and ultimately greater impact in the community.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent, preferred
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred
  • Experience with the budgetary responsibility of $4 million or higher, preferred, $2 million required
  • A proven track record of fiscal and/or program fiscal responsibility and sound financial management skills
  • Proven ability to have initiative, sound judgment and ability to make decisions independently
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations

 

Essential Functions
  • Promotes the SRYMCA’s mission in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations & businesses
  • Implement best-practice strategies to gain/maintain competitive advantages, increase membership and program participation, reduce costs, and increase efficiency and quality through the use of benchmarking, forecasting, weekly dashboards, and other performance monitoring techniques
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branch
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with the hiring, training, development, and supervision of staff and volunteers, while fostering a positive work environment
  • Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meet or exceeds budget targets
  • Develops and directs high-quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to communicate the benefit to the community effectively
  • Serves as a member of Y management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA
  • Performs other duties as assigned
