Building & Grounds Director

The North Penn YMCA is looking for an Building & Grounds Director to oversee all the facilities for our Lansdale Area Family YMCA branch.
Job Description

The Building and Grounds Director is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Lansdale Area Family YMCA buildings, grounds and equipment, including but not limited to the staff, cleanliness and maintenance of facility. This position may involve early morning, evening and weekend responsibilities. This job is performed to standard when all work is completed accurately and on time, with minimal supervision.

Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in facility management, or closely related field
  • Requires working knowledge of custodial, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, fire prevention, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas
  • Certified Pool Operator or Fire Prevention Officer license preferred
  • Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards
  • Effective Communication: written, oral and through presentations
  • Must have strong collaborative work ethic
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring daily maintenance activities in all branches.
  • Oversees the physical assets, general maintenance repairs, and preventative maintenance projects for branch.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies for repairs and operate within budgeted amounts, making good financial decisions.
  • Ensure that operations, maintenance, and vendor management standards are met in a cost-effective, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Oversees the implementation and evaluation of maintenance management programs for buildings, equipment, utilities and the grounds for the branches
  • Maximize the interior and exterior appearance of the branches within budget guidelines
  • Maintain all aspects of the property and maximize its useful life and minimize the necessity for repairs
  • Ensure proper repair of plumbing, drywall, appliances, HVAC, woodwork, and electrical systems
  • Direct inventory control and utilization of maintenance parts and materials
  • Schedule and perform annual inspections and scheduled maintenance of all equipment based on the manufacturer’s recommendation and operating manuals
  • Plan and schedule services and repairs for municipal infrastructures & services such as water, gas, electric, storm drains, streets, alleys, parking areas, sidewalks, and lighting
  • Participate in all maintenance projects such as plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, grounds, appliance repair, carpentry, and all exterior maintenance
  • Hire, Schedule, and manager housekeeping and maintenance Staff
  • Assist with special projects or management reports.
  • Assure that proper records are maintained on staff, inventory/supplies, service contracts, and contractors
  • Ability to process, understand and respond appropriately to emergency situations
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Handle OSHA facility regulations and compliance issues; keeps all records for permits and Board of Health, electrical and HVAC fire system
Required Certifications
  • Certified Pool Operator or Fire Prevention Officer license preferred
  • First aid/Cpr certification preferred
