Job Description

Dye Clay Family YMCA, is a 34,000-square-foot facility located in Orange Park. The center features state-of-the-art strength and cardio equipment, free weights, two group exercise studios, Gymnastics facility, and a dedicated cycle studio.

Members also enjoy an indoor basketball gymnasium, an 8-lane, 25-yard seasonal outdoor pool, and an Esports lab. The campus includes a camp building, a family adventure center, KidZone, and DayStar—a specialized facility supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Role Purpose:

The Branch Executive Director has primary responsibility for the leadership and management of the branch, and is accountable for staff development, board development, fiscal management, and revenue generation, including resource development.  Growth and expansion of the major revenue drivers, which include membership and programs, will be a primary focus.  The Branch Executive Director will invest significant time in building and strengthening relationships in the community, resulting in collaborations and ultimately greater impact in the community.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree with minimum of six to eight years’ experience managing an operations and others preferably in a YMCA setting.
  2. A proven record of successful leadership in the areas of staff development, budget management, membership development, program planning and innovation, facility/property management, resource development, strategic planning and community collaboration.
  3. YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification desired.Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  4. A high level of professionalism is a must.
  5. Commitment to character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
  6. Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch.
  7. CPR and First Aid certifications required.
Essential Functions
  1. Lead the operation in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast and its Board of Directors with counsel and guidance from the Branch Advisory Board.  
  2. Meet all standards for licensed and accredited programs.
  3. Manage the total operating budget of the branch, meet the agreed-upon operating net.  
  4. Create a culture of revenue generation and growth.
  5. Build a dynamic staff team which will include professional development plans for all team members, coaching, recognition and evaluation resulting in a high performing and cohesive staff team.
  6. Ensure high levels of staff satisfaction are measured by an employee engagement survey.
  7. Provide leadership and motivation to the Branch Advisory Board to ensure a highly functioning, engaged branch board focused on meeting community service needs.  
  8. Ensure a strong and productive full Advisory Board by recruiting, training, evaluating, and recognizing volunteer leadership.
  9. Meet annual campaign goal each year.  
  10. Explore resource development opportunities with the Branch Advisory Board and Association leadership.
  11. Collaborate with Youth Development Executive Director in recruiting youth for Youth Development programs, such as summer day camp, Before and After School Child Care, etc.
  12. Execute Association strategies and develop new and innovative approaches to attract and retain members and program participants.
  13. Manage physical facilities to provide a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
  14. As a representative of the YMCA, collaborate with individuals, businesses, government, and not-for-profits to develop and increase capacity in providing programs to address community needs.
  15. With Branch Advisory Board’s support and guidance, process and implement branch strategic plan in alignment with the Association’s strategic plan.
  16. Promote the YMCA Mission and serve more individuals and communities.
  17. Serve as a member of YMCA management and support the overall objectives of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast.
