Job Description

The Hampshire Regional YMCA is looking to fill an important role on our senior management team! The Senior Program Director will help steer the success of our YMCA, and the ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the YMCA’s mission and values, as well as a strong customer service background.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, business, management, human services, or related field
  • Five years experience in a field related to Aquatics and/or Membership
  • Five years management experience required, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit
  • Current lifeguard certification required or obtained within 60 days of hire

 

Essential Functions
  • Act as direct supervisor for Membership department which involves directly overseeing frontline staff and operations in that department. Role would also oversee a director in the Aquatics department
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and coach both frontline staff and leadership staff in Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Assist in creation and implementation of programming in Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Grow membership for our YMCA as well as track and evaluate trends in membership
  • Monitor and help create budgets for Aquatics and Membership departments
  • Participate in and contribute to both the operations leadership team as well as the senior management team, which includes attending meetings, special events, strategic planning, etc.
