Communications Director is responsible for ensuring that marketing and communications are done in a clear and efficient manner and that all Y-USA brand standards are met.
1. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Previous professional experience in membership, marketing and/or sales preferred.
3. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in various creative software products, as well as Word and Excel.
4. Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.
1. Develops and manages annual marketing plan in collaboration with Membership, Childcare, Programs, Development and Human Resources; monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.
2. Develops and designs printed materials in collaboration with Membership, Childcare, Programs, Development and Human Resources; this includes, but is not limited to, program guides, camp guides, outreach materials, brochures, banners, posters, postcards, business cards and other promotional materials.
3. Develops and updates content and design of website in conjunction with Membership, Childcare, Programs, Development and Human Resources.
4. Responsible for managing, writing and designing the content of electronic communications to members and staff; this includes emergency communications.
5. Provides leadership and oversight to all staff, ensuring that all social media activity reinforce the Rye YMCA’s identity as a cause driven organization.

Utilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
