Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  The Warlick Family YMCA is hiring a Senior Program Director who will focus primarily on Youth Development leading Afterschool/Summer Camp, Program Innovation, Staff Training and Leadership Development. This position will provide leadership and be responsible for managing the quality and execution of Youth Development programs at the Warlick Family YMCA as well as recruiting, training, and leadership development to all assigned staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent.
  • Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervision experience of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certifications required.
  • Child Abuse Prevention Training upon hire and annually
  • CDL Preferred
Essential Functions
  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote safe and engaging experiences for youth participants
  • Ensures program growth goals are met for the Warlick Family YMCA youth programs.
  • Ensures that the Y and School facilities are maintained and resources are managed appropriately
  • Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
  • Works with marketing department and other Y staff to market and promote youth programs 
  • Provides staff leadership to the Youth Development Programs working directly with Program Directors and part time staff in afterschool, youth sports, parent/child, summer day camp. 
  • Creates an exciting and inclusive program environment in a primarily outdoor setting.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas 
  • Facilitates effective communication with parents in maintaining positive and productive interactions with parents. 
  • Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/boards as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that YMCA program standards and best practices are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and on-going training of staff.
  • Coordinates special events and activities for families as well as supports branch events /special programs.
  • Manager on Duty assigned some nights and weekends
  • Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training before working with consumers and on an annual basis.
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities
  • Consistently follow safety procedures during instruction, transitions, and emergencies.
