Job Description

The YMCA is seeking an experienced Early Learning Director to lead our preschool program in Reston, VA. You will oversee program quality, develop a team of educators, and build strong relationships with children and families.

With strong organizational support and a focus on staff development, you’ll have the resources to lead effectively and strengthen program quality.

This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who is passionate about early childhood education and ready to elevate team performance and the overall program experience.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
  • Strong knowledge of child development and licensing standards
  • Experience leading teams and managing program operations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Essential Functions
  • Lead and develop a team of educators, building a positive, high-performing culture
  • Ensure strong early learning experiences aligned with best practices
  • Grow enrollment and family engagement through tours and community relationships
  • Oversee program operations and licensing compliance
  • Partner with families to support each child’s development
  • Manage program performance and budget with branch leadership

Required Certifications

Organizational leader, or multi-team or branch leader certification.
