Job Description

The YMCA is seeking an experienced Youth Development Director to lead school-age and camp programs at Middleburg Community Charter School, while supporting additional school-based programs across Loudoun County.

This role combines hands-on site leadership with the opportunity to support program growth and develop staff across locations. You will be responsible for program quality, team development, and building strong relationships with families, schools, and community partners.

With strong organizational support and a focus on leadership development, you’ll have the resources to lead effectively and grow your impact over time.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Human Services, or related field
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in youth programs, camps, or school-age settings
  • Experience supervising staff and managing program operations
  • Strong understanding of youth development principles
  • Ability to build relationships with families, schools, and community partners
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Essential Functions
  • Lead day-to-day operations of school age and camp programs at a primary site
  • Hire, coach, and develop program staff, building a positive team culture
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality youth experiences aligned with Y best practices
  • Grow enrollment and strengthen family and school relationships
  • Support and guide leaders at additional program sites as needed
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and program requirements
  • Manage program performance and budget in collaboration with branch leadership

Required Certifications

Organizational leader, or multi-team or branch leader certification.
