Associate Executive Director

The Old Colony YMCA is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader to serve as our Associate Executive Director at the Plymouth Branch.

Position Summary

The Associate Executive Director plans, directs, and coordinates all aspects of branch operations to ensure exceptional member experiences and strong program outcomes. This role works closely with the Executive Director to align strategy, develop staff, manage budgets, and build community relationships—while embodying the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strongly preferred: Experience in childcare, summer day camp, and/or out-of-school time (OST) youth programming
  • Demonstrated success in managing youth programs, including licensing, staffing, and enrollment growth
  •  Strong financial management and budgeting experience
  •  Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
  •  CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain)
  •  Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Essential Functions

Key Responsibilities

Branch & Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all branch departments, with a strong emphasis on Childcare, Camp, and Out-of-School Time programs
  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and engaging youth programs that meet community needs and regulatory standards
  • Establish and monitor annual goals aligned with YMCA mission and strategic priorities
  • Drive program growth, enrollment, and retention across youth and family services
  • Identify trends and innovate programming to strengthen youth development offerings
  • Lead planning and execution of branch events, including those tied to youth and family engagement
  • Oversee and manage the branch Emergency Action Plan

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and supervise department leaders, including those in youth programming areas
  • Build a strong, mission-driven team culture focused on excellence in youth development
  • Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare, camp, and OST experiences
  • Ensure all staff meet licensing, safety, and training requirements, particularly in youth program areas

Financial & Operational Management

  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets across all departments, including childcare and camp operations
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility while maximizing program sustainability and growth
  • Meet or exceed revenue, enrollment, and program targets

Community Engagement & Youth Impact

  • Build strong relationships with schools, families, and community partners
  • Serve as a visible leader and advocate for youth programming within the community
  • Support fundraising efforts, including the Annual Campaign, with a focus on youth access and impact


Facility & Member Experience

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members and program participants
