Job Description

The Branch Executive Director at the YMCA of Greensboro leads all branch operations, including team supervision, budget management, board relations, program development, facility management, and community partnerships and philanthropy. This individual must possess strong leadership skills to advance the Y’s culture of service, strengthen the Y’s position in the community and build staff and community relationships to ensure long-term success. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Greensboro is responsible for carrying out our promise to strengthen the foundations of community with focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility while upholding our values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Strong background in business operations and financial management with a proven track record of growth. Experience supervising staff and managing budgets comparable to the branch.
  • Effective communication required across various social and economic groups.  
  • Skilled in forming and maintaining community partnerships.  
Essential Functions

1.   Manage and expand the branch's operating budget with a focus on achieving annual net positive results. 

2.   Evaluate key performance metrics across membership and program services, reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.

3.   Recruit and mentor staff to fulfill both organizational and personal development objectives.

4.   Implement strategies to enhance member engagement and retention.

5.   Strengthen community ties and service delivery through collaborative leadership.

6.   Uphold the YMCA's commitment to inclusion.

7.   Ensure compliance with YMCA standards and policies, maintaining high-quality service and program delivery.

8.   Motivate and partner with the Branch Advisory Board to ensure effective governance.

9.   Partner with Board and Staff in leading and growing annual campaign.

10. Represent the YMCA within the community, fostering relationships with other organizations and stakeholders.

Required Certifications

YMCA Multi-Team/Branch or Organizational Leader preferred.

CPR/AED, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen training required upon hire and must remain current throughout employment
