The Regional Director, Youth & Family Engagement leads the delivery and growth of school-age childcare, enrichment programs with a budget revenue of $1M or more across a region of YMCA centers. This position ensures high-quality, mission-aligned programming that supports academic achievement, character development, and social-emotional well-being. The Regional Director supervises youth program leaders, ensures compliance with program standards, licensing and funding requirements, and fosters partnerships with schools and community organizations.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, youth development, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management, including supervising staff and managing budgets.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams across multiple locations.
Strong knowledge of program development, evaluation, and community needs assessment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Experience in partnership building with schools, community organizations, and businesses.
Strong financial management skills, including budget development and monitoring.
Familiarity with YMCA programs, policies, and branding standards is preferred.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
Flexibility to travel within the region and work evenings or weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working Conditions:
· Office environment with regular travel to multiple YMCA centers, schools, and offsite youth program locations.
· Occasional requirement to support events, site visits, or licensing inspections that occur outside standard business hours, including evenings or weekends.
· May involve standing or moving for extended periods during program observations or trainings.
· Must be able to interact with children, youth, and families in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
· Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds related to program materials, supplies, or event setup.
· Expected to respond to urgent operational or staffing needs across assigned sites.
Strategic Leadership
• Drive consistent delivery of youth development programs (afterschool, preschool, YKids, enrichment, teens) across centers, aligned with YMCA’s mission and strategic priorities.
• Partner with association leadership to shape and execute regional plans addressing academic support and youth engagement.
Team Leadership
• Supervise youth program directors and site managers, ensuring high-quality staff development, coaching, and evaluation practices.
• Lead efforts to recruit and develop youth professionals who reflect the communities served.
Program Development and Management
• Develop and oversee licensed and non-licensed youth programs that address community needs, school partnerships, and measurable youth outcomes.
• Implement program enhancements based on licensing requirements, funding expectations, and emerging trends in youth development.
Community Engagement and Collaborations
• Serve as YMCA representative to school districts, funders, and youth-serving coalitions.
• Support regional events, family nights, and youth showcases that promote visibility and engagement.
Operational Excellence
• Oversee youth program budgets, grant deliverables, and data reporting to ensure accountability and sustainability.
• Evaluate enrollment, attendance, and quality metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
