Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Annually

The YMCA of Greater New York Association Office is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager. Reporting to the Senior Director of Consumer Marketing & Paid Media, the Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for executing the YMCA of Greater New York’s marketing strategy and acquisition campaigns that support consistent revenue growth and enhance the Y brand equity and awareness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or commensurate experience in marketing and communications required.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of professional experience with a background in communications or marketing.
    Consumer insights/analytics experience.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region and to/from the Association office as required.
  • Marketing strategy development and execution required.
  • Light copywriting, message development, and storytelling ability.
  • Understanding of content creation, graphics, and photography, execute small projects, make edits, supervise specialists, and outside vendors.
  • Knowledge of tools, e.g., Canva, Marq, DAM, and other marketing-related tools.
  • Ability to work in a lean marketing team environment
  • Innovative mindset.
  • Base knowledge of creative platforms, e.g., Photoshop, AI marketing tools preferred.
  • Video and photo editing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Social platforms (Meta, TikTok, etc.) preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization to ensure consistent excellence in marketing materials and initiatives. 
  • Ensure all marketing and communications adhere to YMCA of Greater New York brand guidelines and standards.
  • Develop and manage annual membership acquisition and retention campaigns in partnership with Operations, including summer membership, fall membership, November pop-up membership, and development of winter 2025.
  • Develop and manage fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the YMCA of Greater New York’s Fund Development team, including Spring and Fall Solicitation, Giving Season, and Giving Tuesday.
  • Assist in analyzing consumer (member) behavior and the competitive set to develop a differentiated and defendable platform to create a competitive consumer advantage for the Y.
  • Develop tracking and metrics to determine the success of marketing programs, promotions, and activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications colleagues to utilize email, mobile social media platforms, and website content as needed.
  • Supervise creative resources (agencies and freelancers) to produce innovative marketing collateral and promotional materials that effectively promote programs and membership, in accordance with marketing plans.
