Job Description
The Ocean Community YMCA is looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Staff Member to support the upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of our Westerly, Arcadia, and Camp Watchaug branches.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in maintenance, custodial work, or a related field.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for travel between sites.
Essential Functions
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping duties at the Westerly and Arcadia Branches and Camp Watchaug.
- Complete daily work orders and document repairs or improvements performed.
- Maintain outdoor areas including trash pickup, lawn care, and seasonal groundskeeping.
- Ensure all areas, including storage rooms, workshops, and mechanical spaces, are clean and orderly.
- Assist in set-up, tear-down, and maintenance of seasonal operations at Camp Watchaug.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues or safety concerns reported by staff or members.
- Monitor and restock cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with YMCA standards and state/local regulations.
- Adhere to YMCA abuse prevention policies and complete required training in child abuse prevention and reporting.
