Job Description

This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the members/guests in the aquatic department and to ensure their safety.

Qualifications
  1. Must be at least 18 years of age 

  2. Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions

  3. Ability to use a computer and communicate using electronic devices.

  4. Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications or equivalent - prior to starting if hired

  5. Intro to Y’s Cause & Culture Online Course - prior to starting if hired

  6. Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards

Essential Functions
  1. Enforce rules and procedures.
  2. Keep the pool and pool deck free of obstructions and safety hazards.
  3. Maintain constant surveillance of the water and pool deck areas.
  4. Handle equipment as assigned to ensure safety.
  5. Record chemical readings.
  6. Know emergency procedures and is able to demonstrate them.
  7. Maintain emergency equipment.
  8. Respond to all emergencies.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
  10. Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
