Association Support Director

The YMCA of Greater Omaha is seeking a passionate and strategic leader to serve as our Association Support Director of Health & Wellness.
Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Association Support Director leads the development and operations of the assigned program area. Acts as a resource to association program/branch teams to advance our core programs and strengthen our community.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent
  • Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising
  • Prefer knowledge of and experience with diverse populations
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
  • Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA Cause & Culture, Child Abuse Prevention and Safety Training (provided by YMCA)
  • Program-specific certifications required & must be maintained
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background checks
  • Report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and adhere to mandated abuse reporting and responsibilities
  • Complete all required abuse prevention training prior to first shift
  • Screen, train, and enforce abuse prevention policies for staff
  • Promote a reporting culture, address violations, and maintain confidentiality 
  • Ensure compliance with mandated reporting and communicate zero tolerance to all staff
Essential Functions
  • Acts as program-area expert and leads the development of association-wide program operating plans that promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Develops and implements data collection efforts, including participant, staff & volunteer evaluation.  Uses data and research to establish and implement plans for the quality growth and development of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA strategy plan.
  • Collaborates to inform program budget recommendations and supports program area to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Assist with operation coverage in absence of department leadership prioritizing branches based on greatest need.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA within the community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and/or governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies to advance the program association-wide.
  • Ensures compliance with program-specific regulations and standards, including safety and risk management policies and procedures. 
  • Works collaboratively with association and branch teams to coordinate annual recruitment/onboarding/training plans, marketing efforts, collect impact stories, and assists in purchasing equipment.
  • Supports programming team in the development and execution of special events and activities, including annual support campaign activities.
  • Actively participates &/or leads department and association team meetings &/or trainings.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
