Job Description

The Senior Wellness Program Director is a mission-driven leader dedicated to advancing community health and well-being through innovative wellness strategies and strong operational support. This role supports association wellness activities, grant management, program implementation, and community wellness initiatives that embody the YMCA’s values and vision for a healthier Hawai‘i.

The Senior Wellness Program Director provides critical oversight to ensure high-quality experiences at YMCA wellness centers across the association, drives standards in group exercise and wellness programming, and supports staff training and certification. In partnership with the Membership & Healthy Lifestyles Program Executive and operational teams, this leader cultivates a culture of inclusion, health equity, and high-impact engagement across the Y’s programs and services.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in community health, fitness programming, or nonprofit wellness initiatives.
  • Group Exercise certification(s) and experience in staff development preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Comfortable with health and fitness technology platforms, reporting tools, and digital marketing applications.
  • Commitment to health equity, inclusion, and mission-driven service.
