The Staten Island – Counseling Service YMCA is seeking a Counselor - Master's Level who will be responsible for providing care to a designated caseload, including provision of direct individual, group and family sessions, coordination of specialized program services, and case management of caseload.

Qualifications
  • Must have one (1) of the following credentials: MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of substance use treatment experience.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice, Treatment Court, and Child Welfare Systems.
  • Knowledge of motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care.
  • Knowledge of mental health, CBT, and other evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Bilingual preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Facilitation of sessions including, but not limited to, group, individual, family, crisis intervention, and referrals.
  • Clinician will conduct screenings, assessments, determine appropriate level of care, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Therapist/Clinician will participate in diagnostic & treatment plan development in consultation with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Coordination of care for designated caseload: completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, and dialogue with professionals working with caseload.
  • Professional development: participation in team meetings, individual/group supervision, and identified training opportunities.
  • Fiscal Management: attendance management, census administration, retention of cases, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations
  • Conduct urine toxicology screens.
  • Maintain superior quality assurance & program quality: contract and regulation compliance, fulfilling clinical standards and best practices. Timely & comprehensively complete all related documentation.
  • In absence of the on-site supervisors, will serve as the Manager on Duty (MOD), when requested/approved. When appropriate, serve as the Task Supervisor to interns/volunteers.
  • In the absence of colleagues, will serve as alternate Clinician for clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
