With more than $1.3 million invested in recent facility improvements and a debt-free, financially sound operation, the YMCA is well positioned for continued success.

This is an opportunity to build on momentum. The CEO will serve as the visible leader of the organization, strengthening relationships with members, staff, and community partners while ensuring programs reflect local needs.

With opportunities to expand programming and deepen engagement, the next CEO will be able to make a direct and meaningful impact. Supported by an engaged Board and committed staff team, the CEO will help ensure the YMCA remains a vital resource for individuals and families across Moore County.

Qualifications

Criteria for Candidates: 

  1. Accredited four-year college degree and/or equivalent work experience.
  2. Fiscally sound business management approach with a proven record of budgetary and fiscal leadership for an organization of more than $1.4 million annually.
  3. Minimum of seven years of senior management experience with a YMCA or comparable organization, including direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop and strengthen community relationships.
  5. Ability to develop innovative programs and evaluate existing or proposed programs for financial effectiveness, community relevance, and broader engagement.
  6. Strategic planning and fundraising experience, including annual campaigns and grant opportunities.
  7. Current YMCA Organizational Leader Certification or ability to obtain certification within three years.
Essential Functions

Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan:  Work effectively with volunteers, community leaders, and key staff to create and implement a strategic plan that addresses the needs of the communities served by the Y. The plan should include clear organizational strategies, defined deliverables, and measurable goals. Fiscal Management: Use high-level financial analysis to forecast trends, support growth, and maintain financial stability. Lead the organization toward balanced or surplus operations by growing earned revenue and contributions, controlling expenses, and guiding staff leaders toward strong departmental performance. Develop and implement stewardship strategies that strengthen long-term sustainability. Improve Operating Performance: Engage the board and appropriate staff in developing an annual tactical plan that identifies key goals and objectives and supports safe, relevant, and sustainable operations. Key Competencies: Developing Self & Others, Critical Thinking & Decision Making, Innovation

Position the Y as a Vital Partner for Community Change: Serve as an ambassador for the mission, purpose, and vision for the YMCA within the community and cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders. Key Competencies: Communication & Influence, Engaging Community, Collaboration

Build and Lead Staff: Ensure a talent development system is in place and executed effectively while fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture. Key Competencies: Developing Self & Others, Inclusion, Emotional Maturity, Change Leadership

Steward Fundraising Efforts: Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan that strengthens the YMCA’s impact through donor engagement and community support. Key Competencies: Philanthropy, Engaging Community, Communication & Influence

ABOUT THE YMCA OF MOORE COUNTY
The YMCA of Moore County has served the Dumas community and surrounding area since 1960. Today, it supports more than 3,000 members and operates with an annual budget of approximately $1.4 million. The organization is financially stable and debt-free, reflecting a long-standing commitment to responsible stewardship and sustainability.

Governed by a dedicated and engaged Board of Directors, the YMCA is supported by a committed staff team and a strong culture of collaboration and service. Together, they have established the YMCA as a trusted and valued presence in the community.

In recent years, the YMCA has invested significantly in its facilities, including upgrades to wellness areas, locker rooms, and program spaces, ensuring a quality experience for members and participants.

SALARY, BENEFITS, & CRITERIA

Salary Range: $68,000 to $75,000 annually 

Benefits:
The YMCA of Moore County offers a competitive benefits package that includes participation in the YMCA Retirement Plan, a 403(b) savings plan, health insurance, paid time off, and additional benefits in accordance with YMCA personnel policies.

Residency Expectation: Living in the YMCA’s service area is required.
