Job Description

As our Gymnastics Team & Program Director, you'll help athletes of all ages discover their potential, whether they're taking their very first class or preparing for competition. You'll lead our competitive gymnastics team, oversee engaging recreational programming, coordinate memorable birthday parties and camps, and help create a positive, inclusive environment where every participant feels supported. Qualifications
  • College degree in a related field preferred

  • Experience coaching competitive gymnastics teams and teaching recreational gymnastics classes

  • Knowledge of gymnastics skill progressions, coaching techniques, and safety standards

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Experience supervising staff, volunteers, or program operations

  • Ability to coordinate multiple schedules, events, and program priorities

  • Current CPR, First Aid, and required YMCA certifications, or the ability to obtain them

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as program needs require

  • Experience planning events or birthday parties is a plus

  • Comfortable using computer software for scheduling, registration, participant records, and program administration

Essential Functions
  • Coach and develop YMCA gymnastics team athletes while preparing them for successful competition
  • Teach engaging gymnastics classes for participants of all ages and skill levels
  • Help oversee the daily operations and continued growth of our gymnastics program
  • Plan and coordinate gymnastics birthday parties, camps, and special events that create memorable experiences for families
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support gymnastics instructors, coaches, volunteers, and party staff
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate programs, identify opportunities for growth, and enhance participant experiences
  • Coordinate class schedules, team practices, facility usage, camps, and special events
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging environment that reflects YMCA values
  • Build positive relationships with participants and families while providing ongoing feedback and support
  • Ensure gymnastics spaces and equipment remain safe, organized, and well-maintained
  • Assist with enrollment, participant retention, marketing efforts, and customer service initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records, attendance, schedules, and program documentation
  • Follow all YMCA policies, safety procedures, and risk management guidelines
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
