Job Description

What You’ll Do
As our Aquatics Director, you will:

  • Lead and manage adult aquatics programs and instructors
  • Oversee youth and adult swim lesson programs
  • Supervise lifeguard hiring, training, and scheduling
  • Ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained aquatic facilities and locker rooms
  • Conduct monthly staff trainings and in-services
  • Support pool operations (mechanics, pumps, chemicals) in partnership with Facilities
  • Build and maintain community partnerships, especially around the new aquatic center
  • Manage program budgets, performance, and growth
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff while conducting performance evaluations
  • Contribute to fundraising efforts, events, and annual campaigns
Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Age 21+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aquatics, Recreation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to connect with diverse populations
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and math skills for program management

Certifications (or willingness to obtain)

  • CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention (within 90 days)
  • Lifeguard Instructor (within 6 months)
  • Certified Pool Operator (within 1 year)
  • Emergency procedures training (within 90 days)
