Job Description

Contributes to the YMCA mission and cause by both performing day-to-day accounting duties as well as providing strategic management and oversight of financial records, which demonstrate the progress and success of the programs we offer. Provides reports and guidance to leadership team, CEO, and Board of Directors to monitor and maintain the health of the association.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:· A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, though we may consider an Associate’s degree and experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. We'd also prefer a minimum of three years’ relevant accounting experience and minimum of one year experience supervising others Experience with non-profit accounting is a plus.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and supervise all phases of cash management, and managerial and financial accounting of the Association, including, though not limited to,
    • General ledger maintenance
    • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
    • Grants management
    • Budget preparation and oversight, including forecasting
    • Bank and account reconciliations
    • Capital assets and inventory
    • Routine mandatory tax and government reporting
    • Payroll and membership draft processing and systems
    • Policies and procedures
    • Compliance with GAAP, PCI, internal controls, and other relevant governing standards
    • Maintain highly confidential, organized, clean, and accurate financial records in accordance with YMCA policies and retention guidelines.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervision of accounting and finance support staff.
  • Responsible for the smooth and timely completion of the annual audit of the Association, working with an outside auditing firm.
  • Manage and monitor central purchasing, business insurance, and personnel and benefit package for the Association.
  • Internal reporting and project work, whether routine or upon request.
