Job Description
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Health & Wellness Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all programs, services, and events within the assigned Health & Wellness departments. This position provides strategic leadership, program oversight, and operational management to ensure high-quality programming that aligns with the YMCA’s mission, values, and standards.
The Health & Wellness Director is responsible for the financial performance and sustainability of all assigned departments; This includes budgeting, revenue generation, expense management, and achieving established financial goals.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years of related experience in program development and staff supervision
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise program activities
Essential Functions
- Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives
- Develop and expand fitness programming within the community in accordance with YMCA strategic and operating plans.
- Cultivate relationships with members and families connecting them to the YMCA.
- Promote programs through schools, participants, churches and other community organizations
- Ensure program quality and adhere to YMCA policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives
- Provide leadership in program communication and ensure program quality
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff to support program delivery
- Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information
- Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events
- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members, guests and program participants
- Responsible for wellness center, gym and group exercise program schedules
- Responsible for completing payroll on a daily basis and approving timesheets bi-monthly
- Support YMCA special events, signature programs, and community engagement initiatives
- Demonstrate and model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
- Attend relevant trainings, workshops, and meetings to maintain professional development
- Perform all tasks with a positive attitude and in alignment with organizational goals
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Director or Executive Director/CEO

Required Certifications
- First Aid/CPR AED (must obtain within the first 30 days of employment)
