Member Services Director

Job Description

The Member Services Director serves as the primary business administration support for the association. Ensures all business procedures are followed. Provides excellent customer service to members, guests and program participants. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs member service and child watch staff. Uses discretion and independent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Qualifications

Associates degree in related field preferred or equivelent combination of education and experience.

5+ years management experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Patience to deal with high volumes of people and requests; sound judgement for dealing with daily issues and always cognizant of member and staff safety

Working knowledge of computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

Competently supervises and motivates Member Services staff and Child Watch Staff

Essential Functions

Recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises assigned staff (Member Service staff, Child Watch staff)

Provides excellent customer service to members, guests and program participants

Maintains membership data, including new member enrollments and membership status changes; 

Manages membership draft and cancellation process

Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA

Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services

Reviews the daily reconciliation and prepares deposits. Reviews and follows up on returned checks, bank drafts and credit card drafts

Oversees office functions such as cash drawer, office equipment and supplies, etc

Manages purchasing of supplies and equipment as assigned

Develops and maintains business office procedures

Provides admistrative support to the CEO, Finance Director, Membership and Development and Diretor as well a Program Directors

Handles and resolves membership concerns 

Oversees facility scheduling related to both internal and external users (facility rentals, birthday partiies etc) 

Serves as primary business office contact for vendors

Supports assigned aspects of the annual support campaign

Confidentiality is essential in using discretion and independent judgment in handling sensitive information

Performs other duties as assigned
