The Senior Director of Operations is a critical strategic leadership role responsible for the overall operational efficacy, standardization, and future readiness of the La Porte County Family YMCA. This position is designed for a dynamic leader to optimize current association-wide processes while simultaneously playing a pivotal role in planning for new facilities. The Director will initially focus on systems integrations and operational consistency across all existing branches and programs, with the clear progression plan to transition into the dedicated Branch Director of the new La Porte YMCA facility upon its completion and opening.
1. Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
3. Must maintain a current motor vehicle license and acceptable driving record that meets YMCA standards.
4. 5+ years of experience in multi-site operational leadership or general management, preferably within the YMCA or non-profit, fitness, hospitality, or recreation industries, with a proven track record in membership and program growth.
5. Proven track record of standardizing processes, improving operational efficiency, and managing facilities.
6. Experience with strategic planning implementation, performance measurement, and comprehensive budget management (formation and oversight).
7. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams through change and transition periods.
8. Excellent project management skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and strong analytical skills.
9. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
10. Required trainings:
a. Within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention (West Bend online).
b. Within 30 days of hire: Blood Borne Pathogens (West Bend online).
c. Within 60 days of hire: CPR and First Aid
d. Within 90 days of hire: Listen First and Y Welcome
11. Proficient in all standard business software including Google platforms and Microsoft Office.

3. Lead the coordination, implementation, and tracking of the organization’s strategic plan.
4. Drive the creation, documentation, and implementation of clear, SOPs and best practices across all critical functions, including membership, recruitment/retention, program registration/delivery, facility management, and customer service for all branches.
5. Coordinate the annual budget development process with department heads and the CEO.
6. Oversee association-wide compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, safety standards, and YMCA best practices, minimizing organizational risk.
7. Develop, implement, and track association-wide strategies for membership acquisition and retention, ensuring consistent messaging, high member satisfaction, and attainment of growth targets.
8. Oversee the development and standardization of high-quality, mission-aligned programs across all branches, utilizing data and community needs assessments to ensure relevance, impact and growth.
9. Develop and track KPIs for membership growth, program participation/quality, operational efficiency, and member satisfaction, using data to drive continuous improvement.
10. Develop and execute seamless operational transition plans from current facilities and systems to future models.
11. Provide direct operational guidance and support to the branch directors serving as a resource for problem-solving, operational troubleshooting, and consistency in program delivery.
12. May be assigned to provide direct day to day support in the absence of branch leaders.
13. Perform all other duties as assigned.

15. Participate as an active team member for overall advancement of the Association.
