Camp Description

YMCA Storer Camps offer educational programs, character development, and team-building services to youth and adults through our three core programs: Outdoor Environmental Education, Summer Overnight Camp, and Family Programs & Group Retreats. Located in southeast Michigan on 1,200 acres surrounding Stony Lake, our 15 unique ecosystems provide a natural learning environment for campers, students, teachers, and families year-round.

Job Description

As a Seasonal Summer Camp Counselor, you'll be the guiding star for a cabin full of joyful campers! Your role will involve providing leadership and support, ensuring that each child feels safe, engaged, and valued throughout their summer adventures. You'll participate in the exciting planning and delivery of our summer camp programs, transforming everyday activities into memorable experiences filled with laughter and fun. From leading games to sharing stories around the campfire, you'll play a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable summer for every camper.

Qualifications
  • A sincere desire to work with children is essential, as you'll create a nurturing and inclusive environment for your campers.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate.
  • Current certifications in CPR and First Aid are crucial to ensure the safety of our campers, while a Lifeguard certification is a fantastic bonus! We can train you.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, think on your feet, and foster teamwork among campers.
  • Bring your creativity, energy, and love for adventure, and you'll thrive in this exciting role!
