Job Description

The Kearney Family YMCA is seeking a Facility Director to manage the maintenance and improvement of YMCA buildings, property, and vehicles, ensuring they are safe, clean, and functional. This includes managing preventative maintenance, repairs, housekeeping, and vendor services. The position also handles facility-related budgets and partners with the CEO to guide long-term capital planning. supports strategic growth while keeping our facilities running smoothly.  

Qualifications

●         Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent preferred.

●         Three or more years’ experience in facility management or closely related field.

●         Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.

●         Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.

●         CPO and boiler certifications required within 120 days of employment.

●         Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.

●         Familiarity with personal computers helpful.

●         Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications (within the first 60 days) with the ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Essential Functions

1.    Oversee all contractors that work in the facility and grounds.

2.    Supervise and support the housekeeping team, fostering a culture of accountability and pride

3.    Manage facilities and housekeeping schedules to ensure building coverage during operating hours

4.    Leading building operations, maintenance, and improvement initiatives with a focus on efficiency and safety

5.    Coordinate and document preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical systems and vehicles

6.    Manage vendor relationships and contractor services for facilities upkeep

7.    Assist in budget planning and preparation for facilities and housekeeping departments

8.    Monitor budgets related to facilities and housekeeping operations

9.    Contribute to long-term capital planning and infrastructure strategy

10.  Maintains a safe work  environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and conducting regular facility inspections

11.  Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.

12.  Ensure timely repair of wellness equipment through vendor relationships and/or achieving and maintaining warranty certification

13.  Maintains up to date facility maintenance and repair tracking, completes minor repair work and facility Maintence as needed, manages contracts for larger projects in a timely manner. 

14.  Records and documents all compliance paperwork, inspections, warranty work, and safety/risk requirements.

15.  Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.

16.  Provide staff support to the Facilities Taskforce and/or Committee of the Board

17.  Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.

18.  Performs all other duties as assigned.
