1. Develop and execute youth development programming in child care and camps including program design, operating standards design and implementation, use of curriculum and outcome tools (ex. SCALED Learning, Creative Curriculum, HEPA, TS Gold, etc.), and assure compliance with all state, county and city licensing requirements.
2. Provide recommendation and assists CEO in new program development and funding opportunities.
3. Support direct reports in recruiting, retaining and developing high-quality youth development professionals across all program areas.
4. Develop and monitor the annual budget for all assigned programs. Exercise necessary controls to assure operations are consistent with approved budget and whenever necessary, recommend adjustments to ensure a healthy budget that aligns resources to strategic objectives.
5. Develop and maintain positive relationships with external partners (licensors, school administrators, landlords and partner agencies) as well as internal stakeholders (Y colleagues, families, and youth)
6. Provide direct supervision to child care leadership team. Provide indirect coaching to the Association’s Youth Development professionals including planning and implementation of training opportunities and staff development days.
7. Develop and implement program quality assessments including on-site visits, peer reviews and evaluations by external partners, families, and youth in program. Conduct regular site visits to monitor programs.
8. Act as an advocate at the local, state and national level on child care issues including participation in the Washington Alliance of Ys Child Care Peer Learning Community, active participation and collaboration with regional coalitions and work alongside the CEO to educate and inform local elected officials and legislators to improve program quality within the community.
9. Collaborate with other branch leaders to provide timely updated and information for supporting assigned Youth Development programming.
10. Work with other Association Directors to provide leadership and guidance regarding overall operations, finances, programs and strategic planning.
11. Provide leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
12. Follow organization’s policies and procedures regarding protecting youth from abuse; including screening and selection, training and supervision, and responding to allegations. Communicate to all staff and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect youth from abuse.
13. Follow DCYF mandated reporting requirements. Report all suspected incidents to Y CEO and Human Resources in a timely manner
