Job Description

This position develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA program(s) and is responsible for managing the operations and programs of the gymnastics department in accordance with the purposes and policies of the YMCA.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • At least one year of program budgeting experience
  • At least 5 years of gymnastics experience
  • Gymnastics coaching experience preferred
  • At least one year of management experience
  • Reliable transportation as this position is required to travel for meets
  • Must be 21 or older (for insurance purposes)
  • Good communication skills
  • Customer Service experience
Essential Functions
  • Develop, manage, and control budgets related to department. Maintains accurate records. Ensures program operates within the budget and program fees are collected. 
  • recruit, hire, train, develop, and direct personnel and volunteers as needed. Review/evaluate staff performance, keep job descriptions up to date, and develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 
  • Assists marketing department with distribution of program information and materials. 
  • Ensures staff records and certifications are up to date and current. 
  • Inspect and order equipment as needed. Notify maintenance when needed. 
  • Create and continually monitor systems that encourage member/participant feedback. Respons to all member and staff questions/complaints. 
  • Create a system of staff in-services to ensure consistency of job performance standards. 
  • Facilitates communication and provides leadership to all involved in program.
