Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Pool & Facilities Maintenance Technician serves as the Lebanon branch's Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and keeps Countryside YMCA's aquatics facilities, which include indoor and outdoor swimming pools and hot tubs, safe, clean, code-compliant, and ready for programming every day.
This role ensures pool and hot tub operations remain in full compliance with Ohio Department of Health codes and YMCA of the USA safety standards, and supports the branch's mission to provide a safe and welcoming environment for members and program participants. The technician owns the mechanical, chemical, and safety side of pool operations: circulation and filtration systems, water chemistry, hot tub/spa units, deck equipment, and the preventive maintenance schedule that keeps small issues from becoming closures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and climb ladders.
Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including chemical containers, parts, and equipment.
Work in pump and chemical rooms, humid indoor pool areas, and outdoor heat; use required personal protective equipment and follow chemical safety procedures. Must be able to meet the physical and emotional demands of the position, with reasonable accommodations as appropriate.
