Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent, preferred.

2. Two to three years related experience preferred.

3. Minimum age requirement of 21.

4. Complete within 30 days YMCA Lifeguard certification.

5. Complete within 30 days of hire: CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

Essential Functions

1. Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives.

2. Expands Aquatics program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

3. Implements a Christian emphasis element throughout all programming.

4. Oversees all aspects of the Aquatics program, scheduling, staffing, recruiting, training, and developing of staff. Including swim lessons.

5. YMCA liaison with the YMCA swim team and Parent committee.

6. Oversee all home swim meets, along with the parent committee.

7. Purchases and replenishes any needed aquatics supplies, with appropriate approval from supervisor and/or parent committee

8. Assists in the marketing and distribution of aquatics program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.

9. Ability to communicate details of aquatics programs, to Member Service team in timely manner, allowing time to educate member service staff.

10. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.

11. Coordinates various activities and special events. Alone, or within a team.

12. Works directly with the Y management team to develop and implement marketing for all YMCA programming.

13. Leads the YMCA/Daxko engagement program within the department.

14. Contributes the development of, and implements a strategic plan

15. Responds to member and community inquiries and complaints regarding aquatics, in a timely, courteous manner.

16. Understands and contributes to the Y vision and mission.

17. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
in program, to better our programs in the future.

18. Incorporates a program participation survey for end of program use.

19. Must be present during assigned programs.

20. Work schedule to consist of 40 hours per week may include random evenings and weekends.

21. Must be able to multi-task several activities and events at the same time.

22. Strong problem-solving skills needed. Ability to create a system for within the department

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Including indoor pool areas.

Required Certifications

Obtain all aspects of  Lifeguarding certification, upon hire.
