Properties & Facilities Director

In this role, you will help ensure our facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming for every person who comes to our YMCA. 
Job Description

The Properties & Facilities Director is responsible for overseeing the improvement and maintenance of all facilities, properties, and grounds for the interior and exterior of the YMCA as well as the safety, and cleaning operations of grounds, properties, facilities, and vehicles.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in Facility Management needed.

Must have familiarity with OSHA standards, emergency plans, equipment purchasing and lease contracts, maintenance management, and housekeeping.

Strong supervisory skills required.

Strong PC skills and budgeting experience necessary.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is required.

Essential Functions

1.      Interpret, communicate, and promote Y mission, goals, and objectives to department employees, volunteer leaders, members, and the community.

2.      Support branch/department initiatives related to membership retention and Annual Giving goals.

3.      Build and maintain positive relationships with members and staff. 

Operational Performance

4.      Develop, lead, supervise, and evaluate facility and property management including staffing, contractors, cleanliness, repairs, and supplies. Oversees cleaning crew.

5.      Maintain safe and high-quality standards for the facility.

6.      Help the Aquatic Director oversee pool operations to ensure compliance with state bathing code. 

7.      Provide leadership in major facility, pool or property repairs.

8.      Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repair.

Management and Leadership

9.       Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time staff in assigned areas.

10.    Develop and implement preventive maintenance and inspection schedule on all equipment and major systems in the facility. 

11.    Serve as a member of the Facilities Committee.

12.    Administer system of records, reports, and inventory in assigned areas.

TEAM EFFECTIVENESS
May serve as a building supervisor for assigned evenings and “on call” weekends.
Serve as a consultant with other department staff in the purchase of equipment and on other projects that affect or relate to the facility and grounds.                                                  

ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

Required Certifications

CPR/AED, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens. 

Be able to obtain Certified Pool Operators registration within one year of hire
