The Maintenance Technician supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the Direct Supervision of the Property Director, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing duties related to housekeeping, facility/property maintenance, building repairs, landscaping, and vehicle maintenance.

*Compensation will be determined commensurate with qualifications and experience.*
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in facility management or closely related field
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must meet YMCA of Greenville driver eligibility requirements, including maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), in accordance with YMCA policies.
- If driving YMCA vehicles or personal vehicles for YMCA business, the employee must successfully complete YMCA driver authorization requirements and maintain eligibility throughout employment.

Preventive Maintenance & Work Order Management
- Plan and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
- Manage and administer contracted services related to preventive maintenance.
- Assign, implement, and complete work orders using the designated maintenance management system.
- Perform basic building maintenance repairs and facility upgrades.
- Operate equipment and machinery safely and effectively.
- Develop the ability to work independently without constant direct supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Facility Operations & Grounds Management
- Perform landscaping and facility maintenance to ensure a safe and attractive property year-round.
- Perform custodial and housekeeping tasks to maintain facility cleanliness and member satisfaction.
- Work alongside staff to ensure upkeep and operations of all facilities and equipment.
- Report unusual conditions and/or foreseeable facility problems to management.
- Advise the Property Manager on maintenance and custodial issues and improvement projects as requested.
Vendor & Project Coordination
- Work with contracted service providers on the completion of facility maintenance and capital projects.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, safety, and contract compliance.
Safety & Risk Management Compliance
- Ensure all safety and risk management standards are adhered to.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Routinely monitor high-risk locations (shower houses, restrooms, isolated areas).
Member & Staff Relations
- Provide excellent service and maintain positive relationships with members, guests, program participants, staff, and volunteers.
Other Expectations
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers
- Attend/complete required abuse risk management training
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
- Follow mandated reporting requirements
- Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities
- Maintenance Employees-ensure unused rooms and closets remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker-rooms and bathrooms), etc.
- Follow employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening instruments to screen for abuse risk
- Provide employees and volunteers with ongoing supervision and training related to abuse risk
- Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with consumers.
- Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk
- Respond quickly to policy and procedure violation using the organization’s progressive disciplinary procedures
- Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors
- Follow mandated reporting requirements
- Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization’s commitment to protect its consumers from abuse
