The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is looking for a dedicated and mission-driven Area Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of our Richmond County PrimeTime Before and After School programs. This role is central to building a safe, enriching, and engaging environment for children while supporting and developing a dynamic team of over 70 part-time staff across multiple sites.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • A passion for youth development and commitment to upholding YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred), OR Associate degree/CDA with relevant coursework (60+ credit hours).
  • Experience: 1–2 years of leadership in childcare, youth development, or education preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and people skills, with the ability to motivate and support a large, diverse team.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to lift and move children or inventory, and willingness to travel to site locations.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to meet all YMCA and state training requirements within 30 days of hire (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, etc.).
Essential Functions

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee operations of multiple PrimeTime before/after school program locations, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all licensing requirements.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff and volunteers, including coordinating substitutes and enrichment specialists.
  • Promote programs within the community and support growth through outreach, enrichment development, and family engagement events.
  • Manage program budgets, fee collection, accounts, and CAPS (subsidy) participants to maintain fiscal responsibility.
  • Maintain strong relationships with licensing agencies, schools, families, and community partners.
  • Monitor program data and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a key administrative contact for parent communications, registrations, and site support.
