Job Description

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking a mission-driven, enthusiastic Maintenance Technician II to provide excellent maintenance service to the buildings and grounds at assigned YMCA locations for the benefit of members and program participants.

Qualifications

A minimum of 7 years of experience in building maintenance and repairs Must be highly motivated and possess an acute attention to detail.
Must have knowledge and comply with OSHA standards, emergency plans, maintenance management, housekeeping.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment required.
Able to carry out written and oral instructions. Must work in a cooperative manner with members, staff, and volunteers. Communicates effectively with others.
Some computer skills required to utilize maintenance and facility software program.
Must have valid driving license, ability to drive YMCA vehicles, and reliable personal transportation, as this position requires travel to branches throughout the YMCA of Greater Richmond footprint.
May be required to work overtime and on evenings and weekends as necessary to meet assigned events and facility schedules.

Essential Functions

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Association Facility Manager. The Maintenance Technician must have a knowledge of effective maintenance techniques and routine preventive maintenance processes. They must be able to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents and to perform assigned and approved repairs in accordance with YMCA Association Standards, including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, flooring, painting, plaster/sheetrock, and landscaping. This position may also support the Facilities Team in aquatics projects, including but not limited to pool openings/closings, drain/cleans, and aquatics area maintenance and repairs; camp projects including but not limited to camp openings/closings, trail maintenance, equipment transportation; custodial/housekeeping projects; and volunteer build events.

The Maintenance Technician is accountable for consistently updating the approved system of records, reports, and inventory in assigned areas. They are responsible for updating, communication and closing out of all work orders and projects in the Facilities Management Software.
