Located on scenic Possum Kingdom Lake in Graford, Texas, Camp Grady Spruce is a co-ed overnight camp providing 7 to 16-year-old campers with opportunities to partake in captivating outdoor and aquatic experiences while learning about the natural landscape.
Camp Grady Spruce YMCA, located on beautiful Possum Kingdom Lake, approximately 120 miles west of Dallas, is searching for an experienced Building & Grounds Keeper to care for the grounds of the YMCA camp and carry out a planned preventative maintenance program to help ensure a quality stay for all of our campers.
Under the supervision of the Resident Camp Facilities Director, the Building & Groundskeeper is responsible for carrying out all maintenance-related work orders and emergency maintenance needs. He/she is responsible for the care, maintenance, and security of all company-owned tools, vehicles, inventory, and security of the buildings. He/she maintains grounds in an attractive manner at all times: lawn mowing, trimming, edging, leaf raking, shrub trimming, lawn seeding, care and watering of flower beds, etc., and responds to general maintenance requests and emergency orders. The Building & Grounds Keeper interprets and promotes all aspects and programs of YMCA Camp Grady Spruce. Incumbent must perform minor plumbing duties such as faucet repair, shower valves, toilets, etc., will repair drywall and paint, and must perform minor electrical repairs.
The Building & Grounds Keeper will have working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, vehicle maintenance, machinery, and equipment care and operation. Incumbent must have some knowledge in the areas of heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, septic systems, soil conservation, ventilation, and electronics. The Building & Grounds Keeper must constantly be concerned with safety - both as it relates to campers, guests, and staff. Must be able to read and write and follow directions. High School Diploma or GED. Must possess the knowledge and understanding in how to keep a camping facility well-maintained. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties of this position is required. Must maintain a valid driver's license and pass driving requirements as set by the Risk Management Department.
