The Senior Manager of Camp Program provides strategic oversight and leadership for assigned program areas within center(s). This role manages budgets, supervises teams and ensures program outcomes align with association-wide goals. The Senior Manager is responsible for driving innovation, service quality, and operational excellence, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, staff development, and member engagement.
Primary Responsibilities (not comprehensive):
• Team and program management: Supervise Program Managers (Outdoor Education) and a Program Supervisor (Activity Specialist).
• Strategic development: Develop and implement strategy and growth for outdoor education programs, including activities and curriculum, program design, pricing, accessibility, and community partnerships.
• Financial oversight: Manage the budget and financial accountability for all outdoor education programs.
• Marketing and partnerships: Collaborate on marketing efforts for outdoor education programs.
• Leadership and strategy: Contribute to the Thunderbird Leadership Team's whole camp strategy.
• Summer program support: Provide key support for the summer program operations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive leadership experience in program or operations management.
• Demonstrated success supervising multiple teams and managing complex operations.
• Proven ability to manage multi-site or multi-department budgets up to $2M.
• Strong strategic planning, fiscal management, and program evaluation skills.
• Experience in staff development, succession planning, and workforce management.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead innovation and change across multiple sites.
• Strong community engagement and partnership-building skills.
• Commitment to the YMCA’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for assigned program areas.

• Lead annual and mid-year budget processes for assigned areas, with accountability for budgets up to $2M.
• Ensure program outcomes align with association strategic goals and community needs.
• Identify trends, assess needs, and implement innovative program models.
• Collaborate with association and branch leadership to ensure cross functional alignment.
• Guide staff development, workforce planning, and succession pipelines for assigned departments.
• Support capital projects and major initiatives in collaboration with Director-level leadership.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent the YMCA in community partnerships, events, and member engagement initiatives.
