At Camp Tracy, our 32-acre facility on the waterfront of McGrath Pond in Oakland provides the traditional Maine Summer Camp experience, where the spirit of adventure meets the joys of friendship in the great outdoors. Camp Tracy is also home to Maine’s Fenway a 2/3 scale turfed MLB replica of Fenway Park in Boston. With a unique blend of day camps, residential sports camps, sports tournaments, team-building retreats, and special events; Camp Tracy is truly a one-of-a-kind facility.

Nestled in the heart of nature, our skilled and enthusiastic camp counselors create an atmosphere where campers can build lifelong memories with traditional camp activities, from boating and swimming to arts and crafts.

Specialty camps like the New England Sports Camps and the Adventure, Excursion, and Quest Camps offer the traditional camp experience plus sports-focused, or activity-focused skills-focused activities. Job Description

We’re seeking a dynamic and mission-driven leader to help oversee our overnight camp programs and year-round guest experiences. In this role, you’ll support the Camp Director in ensuring safe, engaging, and values-centered programming while providing exceptional hospitality to campers, families, and rental groups. From guiding cabin life and supervising staff to leading team-building retreats and assisting with high-end events, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality experiences that reflect our organization’s goals. Qualifications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality management, event operations, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.  
  • Experience in staff management, camper supervision, and program delivery required.
  • Customer service and guest relations experience required; luxury or high-end service experience preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Support the Camp Director in overseeing the operational success of overnight camps, team-building retreats, and high-end events.
  • Ensure all guests, campers, and families receive an exceptional hospitality experience, from arrival through departure.
  • Manage and mentor assigned staff and their performance, plan, schedule and evaluate staff, recruit, select, orient and train staff, coach employees to foster growth opportunities and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive camp environment by upholding risk management, health, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead team-building retreats and group programs, ensuring alignment with the camp’s mission and values.
  • Coordinate rental groups and assist with high-end events as assigned.
  • Collaborate with program specialists to maintain high standards of camper engagement, skill-building, and fun.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of systems to maintain high standards for cleanliness, presentation, and service.
  • Assist in the development and execution of risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records for rentals, events, and guest feedback to evaluate quality and service standards.
  • Act as the on-site point of contact during events and retreats as assigned, ensuring seamless operations and prompt issue resolution.

Required Certifications

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Education, Outdoor Leadership, or related field preferred. Equivalent camp leadership experience considered.
  • Camp leadership certifications (ACA courses, Outdoor Leadership, Challenge Course Facilitation) preferred.
  • Current Adult, Child & Infant CPR/AED and first aid certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of youth development, camp programming, and risk management best practices.
  • General knowledge of facility maintenance and event operations.
