We are looking for 2 adventurous and compassionate individuals who want to impact youth and lead our off-site adventure trips.
Job Description
The Trip counselors would serve as a leader, role model, educator and counselor for aproximately 12-18 campers and participates in the implementation & planning of our Summer Camp, Adventure Trip and Specialty Camps. The primary duty will be going on ALL our offered adventure trips this upcoming season. Adventure trips are where you bring a group of campers off-site to different areas in Wisconsin. You will be required to sleep in tents and help provide the authentic camping experience to youth. During non-trip weeks, the trip leaders will do resident camps, adventure based day camps or serve as a general counselor for the program.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 21 years of age or older by June 8, 2026
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or able to provide transcripts.
- Current Lifeguard, CPR, AED and First Aid Certification. If you do not have the lifeguarding, we will train and pay for the certification.
- Experience or have previous training with high ropes courses, adventure challenge programs and camping.
- Coursework and/or previous experience working with teens, leadership development, camping, hiking and more.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills!
- An appreciation for outdoor living, nature and camp settings.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions such as rain or 70-90 degree weather.
- Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include, but not limited to: rock climbing, building campfires, hiking on different terrains, swimming, kayaking, etc.
- Willing to get a background check with the state.
Essential Functions
Typical Work Schedule
- During Trip Weeks: Sunday afternoons-Fridays, with a sleepover each night.
- Non-Trip Weeks: Mondays - Fridays with hour primarily between 8:00am - 4:30pm.
- June 8 - August 28, 2026 (12 weeks total)
- Paid Training begins after Memorial Day (Monday-Fridays)
- Non-Trip Weeks We have ONLY one weekly Thursday sleepover which runs into Friday (the only time we bring out the s'mores!)
- We offer a service to families for “Extended Care” which means some staff could be assigned to additional duties outside of our primary hours. These extra assigned duties start at 7:00am and may end as late as 5:30pm.
- All Certifications are offered as part of training and we will pay you to take these for your role with us!
