Job Description

The Senior Manager, General Accounting - YESS Finance is responsible for delivery of GL Accounting services. This involves supervising the YESS team, quality assuring services delivered by the organization. A further key responsibility of this position is to identify and drive improvement opportunities in this area.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of general accounting and supervisory experience
  • Excellent understanding of end-to-end transaction processes
  • Knowledge of financial systems
  • Understanding of taxation – income and sales
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance
  • Ability to utilize metrics to identify opportunities for service improvement
  • Demonstrated employee management skills; ability to plan, assign and direct work; ability to recruit, mentor and appraise employees

Essential Functions
  • Lead the General Ledger Accounting team to deliver GL Accounting services in accordance with YUSA & Y Association strategies and requirements
  • Oversee escalations from internal customers and response to customer enquiries, ensuring issue and error resolution
  • Contribute to internal and external governance forums as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies & controls and with external regulations
  • Respond to customer feedback survey results
  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities for General Ledger Accounting. Work closely with continuous improvement function to ensure implementation of these
  • Identify risks or opportunities to revenues, cost, and profitability and propose appropriate actions
  • Support development of clearly defined achievable team and individual goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned
