Job Description

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Marketing Coordinator at the Duluth Area Family YMCA intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined and builds the community’s understanding of the YMCA’s cause and impact through development and implementation of effective marketing strategies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated marketing experience and portfolio
  • Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations and handle media inquiries.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute a cohesive marketing, communications, and branding strategy for the Association.
  • Oversee the creation of digital and print marketing materials, including newsletters, annual reports, promotional campaigns, and fundraising appeals.
  • Manage email marketing campaigns, leveraging best practices for audience engagement and retention.
  • Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets.  Recommends adjustments to the budget to assure a balanced operation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets and respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews with key personnel.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and pitches.
  • Work alongside the Development Director to develop compelling storytelling strategies to enhance brand awareness.
  • Works with partner YMCAs to coordinate various marketing and branding processes, including campaign planning, content sharing, brand guideline alignment, and cross-promotional strategies to ensure consistent messaging and maximize regional impact.
  • Ensure all communications reflect the Association’s brand values and voice.
