GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of Youth Development leadership and with close guidance from the Vice President of Child Care, youth Development- the Director of Center Youth, Family & Camp will be responsible for administering all facets of our identified core youth center focused services; including, homeschool programming, day camp, family programming, special events and the development of other community focused programing. The staff person will be accountable for the implementation and administration of the program initiatives, successful program implementation, recruitment of participants and volunteers, and responsible financial operation in accordance with Association goals, objectives and policies throughout a specified Center. Specific program areas include core Play and Learn staff management, family weekend programs, Family Nights (Kids night out, Parent night out) special events, Center Day Camp, and development of new and innovative community-based programs. The Youth, Family & Camp Director must understand their role in helping build relationships and a small community atmosphere among our members. This position is responsible for relationship building to assist with cross system family engagement, for example- creating connections between BAS staff and Center staff to offer sports, and other types of clinics within out of school time settings; collaborate with other Center staff and service lines to engage sports clinic patrons with camp, and other family programing within the centers- thus generating wholistic use of all youth facing YMCA experiences.

This position requires a BA/BS degree in child development, recreation, elementary education or related field, or its equivalent in related experience
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in YMCA or similar agency.
Applicant must have event planning, program development and delivery skills with special emphasis on youth and family activities and volunteer recruitment and engagement.
The ability to relate to all age groups is essential.
Experience with volunteers, fiscal management, and program development is also important. The need exists to be current with community trends.
Ability and willingness to collaborate with internal partners to develop well-rounded family and youth-focused programs, allowing for experiences within several facets of youth-facing programming .
Due to the diversity of responsibilities, a high degree of organizational, project management, and event planning ability is needed.
Strong skills are necessary in supervision, management, income production, expense control, public relations, promotion, communication skills, and record-keeping.
