The Director of Finance and Operations provides leadership for the Association’s financial health, member experience, facility operations, and marketing coordination, ensuring cohesive support for all YMCA branches and programs. This position leads the member experience team, which includes the Accounting Clerk, Maintenance Lead, HR and Office Coordinator, and designated program leaders (Aquatics, Wellness, Tennis, Lakewood Site Supervisor, Gymnastics, and Teen Center). The Director of Finance and Operations blends strategic planning with an active presence in facilities, ensuring smooth daily operations, consistent service standards, and clear communication of YMCA programs.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum of 5 years of operations management, recreation, or nonprofit leadership experience.
· Proven skills in financial oversight, including budget management, AR/AP processes, and expense control.
· Experience supervising multiple departments or teams.
· Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Experience coordinating facility maintenance and contractors.
· Familiarity with marketing and community engagement.

Operational Leadership
· Provide leadership for the daily operations and upkeep of the YMCA’s wellness branches.
· Provide supervision and leadership to leaders on the Member Experience team, ensuring high-quality service delivery at wellness branches.
· Implement systems for operational efficiency, risk management, and compliance.
Financial Management
· Supervise the Accounting Clerk to ensure accurate processing of AR/AP, account reconciliation, payroll support, and audit preparation.
· Monitor budgets, revenues, and expenses for the Association.
· Assist and support program leaders in budget planning
· Prepare reports and forecasts in collaboration with the CEO.
Member Experience & Engagement
· Lead strategies to promote YMCA programs, increase membership, and retain members.
· Maintain a visible presence in facilities to support staff and engage members.
· Ensure consistent service standards across branches.
Strategic Plan Support
· Work with the CEO and leadership team to achieve strategic goals.
· Identify opportunities to expand membership, programs, and partnerships.
· Track and report operational and financial performance metrics.
General Functions
· Assists with functions and events as needed
· Attends required meetings, conferences or training as deemed necessary
