Operations Director

The MacColl YMCA is looking for a dynamic Operations Director to lead day-to-day excellence across wellness, membership, and facilities.

The Operations Director is a mission-driven leader responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic execution of YMCA operations across program areas. This includes oversight of staff, facilities, program delivery, and member experience. The role ensures operational excellence aligned with YMCA core values and community impact goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others.

 

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct leadership to health and wellness, membership, and custodial departments.
  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA.
  • Measures progress against strategic goals and ensures continuous improvement.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Oversee budget management, revenue generations, and expense control for assigned departments.
  • Uses data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress for the organization.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of staff.
  • Ensures high-quality member-focused programs through innovative program development.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) on a rotating basis, providing leadership during evenings/weekends, responding to incidents, addressing facility concerns, and supporting staff. Must be willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies in addition to MOD duties.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community by developing positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
