Job Description

Dedicated to creating exceptional experiences that inspire and empower thousands, the Moline-East Moline YMCA — the largest branch in the Two Rivers YMCA association with over 15,000 members and sprawling 30-acre grounds — is seeking a dynamic Member Services Director to lead and elevate our member engagement and access. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee unlimited summer access to the iconic Riverside Riverslide Waterpark, manage registrations for 24 school-age childcare locations, and support our onsite DCFS-licensed preschool childcare center. Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A/B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
  • Two years of membership, program and staff development experience, preferably with multiple levels of staff.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Oral and written multilingual abilities preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
  • Ability to calculate budgets and analyze financial statements and financial reports.  Previous department or unit budget responsibility of at least $50,000 preferred.  
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA or members of the business community.
  • Experience with and knowledge of modern membership management software, point-of-sale systems, and electronic payment processing platforms.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Essential Functions
  • Prepares, maintains, and develops membership budget.  The membership department will meet or exceed annual budgeted revenue projections.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops appropriate staff and volunteers.
  • Interprets YMCA policies and procedures to all staff, volunteers, and members in a positive manner, building character by demonstrating our four core values. 
  • Leads regular trainings and inservice activities for Member Services team.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and tracks membership trends, retention rates, and participation in YMCA special events.
  • Responds to all member, participant, and community inquiries and complaints promptly.
  • Establishes new events and activities for members following the YMCA’s strategic plans.
  • Continually develops all membership processes and procedures, implementing new and improved training and services as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and the Branch Executive.
  • Represents the YMCA in community events, meetings, and seminars as needed.
  • Continues professional development as recommended by the YMCA of the USA and the Branch Executive.
  • Ensure member service areas remain clean, well-organized, and providing the latest information on events, programs, and membership opportunities at the Two Rivers YMCA.
  • All member services facilities, activities, and events will be supervised and staffed as needed to maintain a high quality of member service.

Required Certifications

Must possess or complete CPR-First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen, and Harassment trainings and certifications within 90-days of employment.  YMCA leadership certifications, such as Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader preferred.
