Job Description
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. A Preschool Teacher’s Aide is responsible for the supervision and supportive management of a classroom. Performs activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each individual in the group. Works cooperatively with the lead teacher to discuss and aide in the implementation of daily plans in accordance with the current curriculum.
Qualifications
1. Related experience
2. Minimum age requirement 18 years old
3. Flexible schedule; may be required to work full days to cover an absence
4. Within 30 days of hire includes completion of: Child Abuse Prevention; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
5. Ability to work on site at the Y
6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
7. Ability to communicate in Spanish (preferred)

Essential Functions
1. Support lead teacher in all class activities
2. Assist with prepping for class projects
3. Ensure classroom safety at all times
4. Attend all mandatory trainings
5. Support with student arrivals and departures
6. Facilitate serving meals and snacks
7. Must attend all staff meetings
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
