Fitness Coordinator

Alongside the Senior Program Director, this role works with all things group exercise, chronic disease prevention, and customer service.

The Health & Well-Being Coordinator at the HRYMCA participates in fitness programming, member engagement and administrative duties.

Pay Information:

  • Administrative hourly rate is $19 per hour, which will make up the majority of work hours
  • Group Exercise instructor rate is $25-30 per class, which will make up 5-10 hours of work per week
  • This position has the option to be part-time OR full-time.
Qualifications
  • Group Exercise Instructor and/or Personal Trainer certification preferred, or must acquire Group Exercise certification upon hire
  • Experience leading and/or facilitating groups
  • Ability to connect and engage with a wide range of people and abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential Functions
  • Teach a variety of group exercise classes and programs and support other instructors on staff
  • Option to coordinate and teach classes in our Parkinson's Disease and Livestrong cancer survivor programs (specialized training provided)
  • Coordinate regular community outreach to expand collaborations that support the Y’s mission
  • Manage data collection, entry, and reporting for Evidence-Based Health Initiatives
  • Research fitness trends and apply this knowledge to enhance group fitness programming
  • Support member engagement and connectedness through fun and inclusive activities that promote a healthy mind, body and spirit
