Under the supervision of the COO, the Branch Executive is responsible for membership and program operations at the Kewanee YMCA. Incumbent will have full knowledge of budget development and management, program planning, risk management, marketing, fundraising and facility scheduling. Incumbents must possess knowledge of typical YMCA programs and activities.

Incumbent is expected to reside in the Kewanee YMCA service area within three months of hire.  Compensation for relocation costs will be included with the employment package.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A/B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university

  • Two years of membership, program and staff development experience, preferably with multiple levels of staff

  • Previous experience supervising minimum budget of $50,000, with fundraising experience

  • Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Oral and written multilingual abilities preferred.

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

  • Ability to calculate budgets and analyze financial statements and financial reports.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from members and non-members of the YMCA or members of the business community.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as staff leader to the branch advisory board.  Participate in strategic planning and capital development planning activities. 

  • Lead and develop branch and department budgets.

  • Responsible for the branch risk management program.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and administrative staff to provide high quality facilities and equipment.

  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate branch membership and program staff. Ensure the facility is appropriately staffed during all open hours.

  • Develop a comprehensive annual program plan. Foster a climate of innovation according to association strategic plans and the mission matrix.

  • Serve on a team of staff leadership that develops and implements annual marketing programs, including high quality membership engagement strategies.

  • Take a leadership role in the annual campaign.

  • Relate to boards and committees as assigned.

  • Maintain a professional image of the YMCA in the facility and community.

  • Demonstrate excellent personal appearance standards and uphold similar standards for staff.

  • Promote and incorporate the Y mission and four core values into all programs and events.

Required Certifications

Must possess or complete CPR-First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen and Harrassment trainings and certifications within 90-days of employment.  Program leadership certifications such as Lifeguard Instructor and YMCA sports-childcare are preferred.
